On Saturday 26 July 2025, ORCA will be hosting a Long Course Training Session at Manchester Aquatics Centre.

If you are a Group 1 swimmer, you are invited to train from 1pm-2pm.

Please aim to arrive for 12.45pm.

If you are a Group 2/3 swimmer, you are invited to train from 2pm-3pm.

Please aim to arrive for 1.45pm.

We would encourage attendance at this session as the opportunity for long course training is rare, given the availability of 50m pools within the locality of Greater Manchester.

Car Parks close to the Aquatics Centre are:

• NCP – Manchester Circle Square – M1 7ED
• NCP – Manchester Chester Street – M1 5GE
• APOCA – Aquatics Centre – M13 9SS

**There will be no training at Royton Leisure Centre on this day**

The team emails are due out in the next 48 hours.

Please let us know if you swimmer is able to compete ASAP.

The brilliant Lucinda & Mollie are fundraising for Macmillan in memory of Lucinda’s dad who sadly passed away when she was just 9 years old.

They are together going to smash this challenge by swimming distance of 21 miles (the equivalent of the English Channel) during the months of June & July.

Please, if you can donate, I know this will give the girls an enormous amount of encouragement to complete this challenge !

Saturday 13 & Sunday 14 September 2025

This meet is aimed at ALL level of swimmer and can be used as a great starting point for the rest of the swimming season.

The gala itself includes all 50’s, 100’s (Including IM), and 200m events for all swimmers as well as the 400 free and 400 IM for swimmers aged 12 and over.

Wigan & Tyldesley Season Starter Meet 2025

With no firm update from OCLL in respect of when pool repairs are likely to be undertaken, we are, sadly going to have to postpone the planned ORCA Summer Sprint currently scheduled in for Saturday 7 June 2025.

We (the club) feel that it wouldn’t be appropriate to proceed with the event until we can safely hold a larger number of swimmers in and around the pool.

We are pressing OCLL to share with us when they plan to actually schedule in the pool repair, so we can get back to normal as quickly as possible.

Once we have firm information from OCLL we will communicate out any plans that need to be put in place so we can reschedule the sprint gala for later in the year.

Training continues as normal.
