Apologies – the Gala was completely taken up within a day of opening and we did not get our entries submitted in time this year.
If you could please send an email to orcatreasurer@outlook.com with details of your bank sort code, bank account number and the swimmers names we can arrange a refund,
In an incredibly exciting race Oonagh managed to finish third, collecting individual bronze and team gold medals for Great Britain.
Oonagh took the race out fast, separating the field with a solid first run, entering the water in 2nd place. A fantastic swim saw her coming out of the sea still holding 2nd place going into the final run.
The last 800 meters was a tense affair with the lead changing hands and Oonagh slipping into 4th place. One final push in the last 10 meters saw her draw level, with four GB girls crossing the line together. It was a nervous wait for the results but thankfully Oonagh was confirmed 3rd with just over one second separating 1st and 4th place.
Oonagh was dreaming of a top 10 finish, so to come away with a place on the podium and two medals is incredible. She’s obviously over the moon and we’re all incredibly proud of her achievement.
ORCA are pleased to add in an opportunity to do a Long Course meet at Ponds Forge. As the meet entries are open we need to move quickly to enter the gala before it closes so we need entries back NO LATER than Thursday 6th October.
Please ignore the BOBCATS name error, it’s actually BOBSC (Borough of Barnsley) but same gala, same place, same time .
