As we enter into the 2024 gala season – we already have the entry details for the BCM Open meeting for March 2024.

This is a starter open meeting – any swimmer that is 9 years old on the 24th March 2024 can enter – as long as they are not faster than the times shown.

As a competitive seimming club, we would like to encourage as many swimmers to take part in Open galas this year, and as more as the restrictions on galas have now eased we are hoping for more local galas to run this year with less travel involved.

If this is your first gala and dont have any official times yet, if you competed in the ORCA Christmas Club Champsionships, we can use those times – otherwise please ask one of the coaches to do a timing set during training and you can use those times. If you only have a 50M time and want to enter a 100M race – we can convert them for you.

To enter the gala, you will have needed to complete your 2024 ORCA membership and requested a CAT 2 / Swim to Complete membership. If you have renewed your membership with a CAT 1 / Swim to Train and wish to compete, please let us know and we cam upgrade the membership before the gala.

PLEASE COULD WE ASK FOR ALL THOSE ENTERING THE CHRISTMAS CLUB CHAMPS TO COMPLETE THEIR ENTRY BY 9th DECEMBER : Entry form on the Galas, Christmas Club Champs page and the link below.

We would like ALL swimmers to enter AS MANY races as they can – and there will be some relays and game races.

ORCA have been looking into options to increase training / pool time for the swimmers.
