Gala – BCM Autumn Meet – 1st and 2nd October

The BCM Autumn Meet gala in Wigan is open for entries – closing date is 1st September 2022 – Information and entry pack is on this page of the website.

GALA – BCM Autumn Meet – ORCA Swimming Club

This is an ideal opportunity for any swimmers that are 9 years old on the 2nd October, especially those that have not entered into a gala before to start competitive swimming.

There is no lower entry time – if you do not have an entry time already you can use a club timing session or ask the coaching team to give you a time to use.

We would love to see as many swimmers enter this gala as its an ideal starter gala for new competitirs.

Summer Break part 2

As we head into our summer break, and 2 weeks closure of training, you are welcome to pick up additional sessions in the school holidays whenever you would like as sessions are likely to be quiet. If you want to do an additional day or swap days around then please feel free.

If the swimmers are at a loose end, below are a set of swimming technique video that may be useful.

Summer Break

Before lockdown impacted our lives, ORCA used to take a summer break at the start of school holidays. This actually helps swimmers recover from repeated swimming, and also gives our coaching staff a well earned break.

We will be bringing this back for 2022 and aligning it to ATS summer break.

We will be having our last training session on Thursday 28th July and restarting on Saturday 13th August.

There are no more competition for a while and starting back on the 13th August will give the swimmers time to get back to speed.

After the summer break we have these galas in our diary so plenty to keep us occupied (there may me a couple more to add)
